First, I would like to thank all those that voted for me. It means the world that I was your pick to be your Representative. It is a sad time now that the votes have been counted and North Alabama chose corruption over representation. However, this is not the end. I will continue to fight for our rights, to increase the general well being of North Alabama citizens, and to ensure our security in this great nation. This may take the form of running again in 2024 or it may take the form of volunteering in our community (maybe both).
Second, I would like to share my thoughts on why I received 3.2% of the vote. I think the first challenge was breaking the mold of voting either Republican or Democrat. So many of our citizens have been trained to believe those are the only viable options and that not selecting one of those two will lead to the downfall of society. I asked a few people today why they voted for my opponents and they basically responded with a “what other choice did I have”. With that mentality, the second problem is straight ticket voting. This option ensures that the two party system endures and causes a significant drop in voting. Looking at the initial results, there is over a quarter million vote drop in two way races with Libertarians in them. The next challenge was the media. They did everything in their power to downplay Libertarian presence on the ballot. Many of you may have noticed a significant decrease in political ads this election cycle. This is not a coincidence. The Equal Time Rule is supposed to make sure each candidate receives the same amount of air time. The best way to cut out Libertarians was to not air any political ads. Our Governor candidate couldn’t even pay the network to air his ad. Additionally, the news still found ways to filter us out. There are a number of events that I went to that the news edited me out of their coverage to make it seem like I wasn’t event there. Lastly, person(s) unknown began removing my signage the night before the election. No evidence on identities has been received.
I guess one has to admire a system that has become so efficient that any challenge to it is ignored with success. We even file complaints/reports against Dale Strong for numerous violations of the law (illegal campaign contributions, use of a 501c3 for campaigning, ethics violations, etc…) but the worst he received was a letter saying he shouldn’t do that anymore. Warner ensured that the vote would be divided and that Strong would win. They were both paid well for this endeavor.
I would like to end the campaign on positive notes. I am proud that I was the only candidate that ran a clean campaign and the only candidate that didn’t have their integrity questioned. I had the opportunity to hear the issues facing our community and gave my honest opinion back to them. During my campaign I had a 99% positive response to my candidacy. The remaining 1% were mainly ardent Democrats and pro-choice advocates. I suppose if I had been allowed to talk to everyone I would have won but there were too many people for one man to reach. Despite all of this I received 6,740 votes equaling 3.2% of the total District 5 vote. This number is significant for two reasons. The first is that the Libertarians were back for the first time in 20 years and it is not unreasonable to expect a lower number – especially in a three way race. The second reason is that compared to Libertarians in other three way races I did extraordinarily well.
The best compliment I have received is a voter who said they still felt good about voting for me even though I lost. I have also gained many new friends over the past year which I could not have finished this campaign without them. Thank you again to all!
Candidate for the US House of Representatives - Alabama District 5
There is no other candidate with more experience with the federal government, a more staunch supporter of our 2nd Amendment Rights, and a desire to serve North Alabama.
Family is the most important thing in life. I will work tirelessly to ensure North Alabama can be proud to raise their families here!
I spent nearly 20 years in service to our great nation. I wish to continue my service by representing the values instilled in me: Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Its time for North Alabama to have a representative in Congress who will fight for our service men and women both at home and abroad.
PJ Greer represents the best aspects of the Republican Party without all of the baggage. I will represent North Alabama and not a Political Party.
Unlike the other candidates in this race, I do not have corporate sponsors that would have influence over me.
I own no stocks and I will not purchase stocks while in office.
I have spent the past 20 years sending our brave troops overseas to fight on foreign shores. Its time we had someone in office who knows what that is like and how to help our local veterans.
I spent the entirety of my military career as a small arms repairman. No One in politics knows more about firearms than me. I understand the fact that the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
Too many of our elected officials ignore the citizens they are sworn to represent. I promise that I will be the most engaged Representative in Congress. I will maintain my YouTube channel and provide daily updates on what I have done while responding to every email that is sent to me.
Citizens have a right to know how their government is being run and how their money is being spent. When elected I will detail each vote's subject and the reason I voted for/against it.
The practice violates the principle of the 4th Amendment and should be abolished. American Citizens should not live in fear that their government could take from them at any moment.
The War on Drugs has failed. All it has accomplished is to put non-violent offenders into confinement. Its time to end wasteful expenditures and move them to protecting our borders.
You need a representative that will support your ideas, fight for the needs of your community and earn your respect. For someone who truly cares for our community, look no further.
Funding is an unfortunate side effect of running for office. To ensure I use every penny to the fullest, please see below on how I spend any donations.
I believe that citizens have a right to know how their government is operating. Below is a full, unedited list of how we have spent our campaign funds. This represents the kind of transparency I would bring for North Alabama.
I provided $881.14 of my own money.
I received $100.00 from my Aunt Pat who insisted she help my campaign and I unable to stop her from helping.
I received $20.00 in local donations.
I spent $90.87 in maintaining this website.
I spent $291.92 on Campaign T-Shirts.
I spent $481.14 on Campaign Signs.
Don't let the Democrats or Republicans trick you into believing you only have two choices.
